Food: Breakfast, Lunch, and Snacks

The center maintains a contract with the Ohio Department of Education, Child and Adult Food program. Staff have been provided with training and monitoring for food preparation, handling, storage, and nutritionally balanced menus.

Breakfast is offered to all children present between 7:30 and 7:45 A.M. Children arriving past that time need to have breakfast at home. We regret that we cannot heat or cool foods.

The center serves nutritionally balanced snacks at mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and early evening. Water is readily available and encouraged between meals and snacks. Milk is provided for breakfast, snacks, and lunch. Whole milk is served to children older than twelve months of age.

Parents provide table food for children older than 12 months of age.

Parents need to send a nutritionally balanced lunch each day, unless a special event is scheduled. Nutritional guidelines and quantity specifics can be found below.

If a parent neglects to send a lunch, one will be provided by the center at an additional fee to the parent.

A licensed physician shall approve modified diets.

Allergies and special diets: parents need to meet with the caregiver to complete a Care Plan, which is reviewed with the Administrator.

Menus of all snacks and meals provided by the center are posted in each classroom weekly. Menus reflect quantities of all foods served by the center.
